Röykkä Invest Oy

Röykkä Invest Oy owns a former tuberculosis sanatorium known as Nummela Sanatorium, located in Nurmijärvi.

The sanatorium, an Art Nouveau landmark, was designed by Magnus Schjerfbeck in 1903. The Sanatorium was closed down in 1932 and replaced by a psychiatric hospital. The hospital was later used as a reception center for asylum seekers, but has been empty for the last few years.

In the spring of 2022, Röykkä Invest Oy bought the hospital building. The company is owned by a group of of Finnish investors with experience in the Finnish real estate sector, including Korpi Capital Oy and Jasper Pääkkönen.

Röykkä Invest is currently mapping out potential uses for the hospital. One potential path is to develop the hospital into a wellness hotel complex.
